· Welcome everyone/ introduction

§ Big focus this year to make sure everyone knows the rules

§ Once a month for 30 minutes
§ This month they covered shared social skill lessons taught at school
§ You can submit any topic to cover in future meetings
o Independent reading extended

§ Need an independent reading book in school to use daily
§ Amy Sousa suggested a book drive for the classroom libraries
· Julie Ward agreed to put a box out front for parents to drop off books

§ Looking for approval to move the line items for each appreciation allotment to one bulk line item to be able to use it better
· Will have teachers/staff fill out a google form explaining what they need funds for to submit to PTO for approval
· $4400 in budget line
· Question from Laurie: what if more money is requested than allotted
o PTO approves all the use of money to make sure its fair
o They’ll be a deadline so all requests are looked at at the same time and so PTO can make sure to divvy up fairly
o Jen reminded this is just for teacher support and does not include enrichment or other line items in the budget
· Motion to change budget made by Jess Gavin
o All in favor to approve changing the line item in the budget
o Enrichment/field trips
§ Looking for fun, innovative programs for the school
§ Approx. $10k
§ Museum of science is not coming into the schools this year so Jen Driscoll is looking for new ideas
§ 2 programs per grade per year
§ Have to have 2 sessions for school programs this year due to social distancing
· You then have to pay for 2 sessions = more expensive
§ Jen Driscoll is also looking for help in scheduling programs
§ Field trips are being scheduled
· Aim to have each grade have a field trip
o Teacher appreciation
§ Entire year is already scheduled
· Hatherly helper list can be used in advance to help make each one possible
· Next one is Halloween sweet treats
· Confirmed we do not have to individually wrap everything this year
· Donations always appreciated and needed to make this happen

· Theme this year is worldwide sports
· Event day will be done by grade in the field
o Rain turns it into a gym danceathon
· Kids and staff get tshirts
· Shirt sponsorship was covered
· Thank you to DeFrancos for generous donations
· Greg highlighted this is a fundraiser that allows people outside the community to donate
· Money raised goes to chromebooks, classroom literacy and enrichment
o Goal is 1:1 ratio for chromebooks in the classroom
